Sex Question: I have a foot fetish. Is that wierd?

by Chrystal Bougon on November 23, 2010

Sex Question from a customer. Just when I think I have writer’s block, I get a question from a customer on Facebook chat that inspires me to write a blog.  Fetishes are way more common then you might think. It’s just not something that people talk about in public, though. Thanks to my career facilitating pleasure parties all over the Bay Area, I get to hear a lot of interesting stuff.  (But, my lips are sealed.)

Bliss_pleasure_partiesI guess the best known sexual based fetishes are foot fetishes and breast fetishes. According to the Wikipedia and Dr. Marty Klein, Certified Sex Therapist, foot fetishes lead the charts as far as fetishes go worldwide; but breast fetishes tend to be more common in the U.S.  Turns out American men love boobs, feet and panties in that order.

It’s interesting to know, too, that when people are obsessed with breasts or feet then that is considered  “partialism.” Obsessions with inantmate objects like panties, shoes, stockings, or balloons, are considered fetishes. So, American men don’t have a breast fetish – they have a breast obsession or are “partial” to breasts. More info on the difference between Fetishes, Obsessions and Partialism on the LiveStrong.com website.

It also turns out that fetishes are way more common in men, then women. But, women do have fetishes. According to Discovery Health, “Those with fetishes, known at fetishists, are usually men, and they often masturbate while looking at or touching the object of their desire. If a man can also become aroused by a person, then he may not have a fetish” and it sounds like, from what our customer revealed, he can be aroused by his girlfriend and her feet.

My own opinion (and I am not a doctor or a therapist) is that if you have something that you have an intense desire for, you should share it with your partner right away. And, as the old saying goes “Everything in moderation”. As long as your obession or fetish is not keeping you from your responsibilities, your job, or getting you in trouble with the law – then just enjoy it. You might find your partner may enjoy participating and she may find it makes everything in you bedroom much more intense and pleasureable. I don’t know many women who would turn down a really nice foot rub.

Do you have a fetish? Have you seen “Strange Sex” on the Discovery channel?  Really interesting show with episodes about all of the kinds of sex people have – fetishism, cougarism, ballon arousal, polyamory and much more.

This was thought provoking. I have wondered if i had a fetish. Im still not sure, but what i do know is that i cant live without touch. I know that is why I am a bodyworker. I get as much as my clients do when I touch them.
I love to be smacked and slapped during sex and foreplay, but not sure that is a fetish 🙂
I do feel though, that like you say, so long as it is not negatively effecting your life or any one elses Fetish away xxx
